What happened:
Whenever there is a gene with 97-99% the gene indexer stops working compelety and I have to manually complete it.
It seems to be happening with "Weather Tolerance: Rain" gene though.

Adding to this since it's already open and exists. Same issue in a custom pack as of 12.6.0, though it seems to occur with genes outside of the 97% - 99% range. Had some Digger Bee genetics that added up manually to 98%, and the indexer froze. Removed them and everything started functioning again.

When the indexer stops working moving whatever sample is in the first slot to another slot seems to let it work again
