Several Issues + Suggestions - Inventory Logic + Item Transfer Lag, Centrifuge Issues, some bee issues.

I originally wasn't going to write this up since I'm running the latest forge version & I know development is now only Neoforge (though I wish one last forge update could be done to smooth out remaining issues for the sake of those of us who haven't the ability to swap to Neoforge yet; a lot of mods are still only on regular Forge), but I figured that it could at least help with potential issues that may also exist in the Neoforge iteration.
This initially stems from rapidly increasing lag issues while I tried to upgrade my automated bee farm. Thought it was a Mekanism issue, so I swapped to Pipez. Then the lag got even worse. Spark indicated Pipez was taking up 70% of the CPU thread, which startled me. Brought it to Pipez' dev, & he said it was some sort of issue related to inventory item logic. That's out of my wheelhouse of expertise though, so I'm just trusting what he said. For reference, the Spark report & the Pipez' Github report: https://spark.lucko.me/xL7RQk2nSp
henkelmax/pipez#242
This issue also seems to extend to the centrifuge, from best I can tell via Spark. I know an addon mod for centrifuge tiers also had issues in the same vein, though those cited recipe lookup as their main source of lag.
All on its own these aren't huge issues, but obviously the mod was made with automation in mind, especially in tandem with other mods, & manually working with the hives is nowhere near viable, particularly with the immense outputs of higher tier upgrades. A fix for this would be immensely appreciated.
On the side, there's a variety of smaller issues as well as some suggestions.
Small Issues:
- Draconic bees seem to have some AI quirks that are a bit annoying, often wandering around post-pollination for quite some time before returning to the hive. I've clocked some chilling for several minutes at a time before before re-entering the hive. May be related to the quirk of preferring Dragon Egg hives, but that's just speculation.
- Liquid Pollination - Bee AI isn't particularly bright to begin with, & liquids for pollination tend to clash with their tiny AI brains. I've found bees both tend to fall into liquids, thusly hurting themselves, & that the bees that pollinate off of it seem to struggle to properly pollinate. Will mention a suggested solution later.
- Amber Bee Encasing - This is usually not too problematic, but the bees sometimes struggle to lock onto a proper target. I've also found they have issues with certain mobs like Squids. I spent roughly 30 minutes recently trying to get an amber-encased squid to farm ink sacs with, something I know is supposed to be possible. At first the bee struggled to lock onto the squid & kept focusing on a target through a wall. Once that was removed it focused on the squid but could never encase it. Tried it repeatedly in a variety of ways, couldn't get it to work. Absolutely no idea why.
- Honey Bucket Texture - This is the most minor matter. Texture shows the honey as being grey, which is a bit odd.
- Hyper Experience Combs - These don't work in a centrifuge for some reason, & the blocks don't do anything at all. This isn't even logical since a heated centrifuge is, well, heated, just like the Create mixer w/ blaze burner.
- Quarry Bee Targeting - This is honestly obnoxious. I consistently watch my quarry bees attempting to find valid blocks through walls (building in a mountainside), which can take a good while before they finally move off & find the blocks they're meant to pollinate with.
Suggestions:
- Advanced Draconic Hive - Could help solve issue 1, & would be a nice way to have hives that Draconic bees can produce dragon's breath in while also allowing for upgrades. Could be pricey to make like a Dragon Egg, Dragon's Breath, Netherite, Crying Obsidian, & Nether Stars. (Crafting grid layout by layer: CO/DB/CO, Netherite/Egg/Netherite, CO/Nether Star/CO; this would fit progression pretty well & offer a respectable reward for the invested materials) This could also be a viable overall hive upgrade for other bees.
- Bucket of Liquid for Pollination - Relevant bees being able to pollinate off of liquids contained in buckets on a feeding slab would be a perfect solution for issue 2. Less of an eyesore, no risk, no bees goofing up on pollination.
- Centrifuge Upgrade - An official uptiered version of the heated centrifuge would be nice. Something that can process more combs at higher speeds. With a decent sized farm, backlog becomes a frequent occurrence.
- Vanilla Bee Changes - Would love if regular old bees could have enhanced genetics applied to them for better production, being metaturnal, & having no weather limitations. Honey treats + Honeycomb blocks I've found I use by the tens of thousands at times. This would help quite a bit with upkeep of those supplies.
- Set Bee's Hive - A little QoL feature that'd be nice to have. Shift-rightclick with a caged bee resets the hive location, but I'd love it if the feature could also set the bee's new hive location if done on a proper hive block.
- Ingots > Nuggets - Some combs produce nuggets for mineral resources that don't have a raw form, typically being alloys (Brass, Bronze, Enderium, Steel, etc.). The nuggets produced average out to about what you'd get in ingot form anyways, & they tend to clog up the centrifuges along with related automated systems. On top of that, then you have to craft them into ingots anyways, which means either an additional automation step or doing it manually.
- Water Bee Products - It'd be neat if these guys could also produce raw fish/aquatic creatures from other mods to increase their usability. Perhaps even ink sacs as well as an alternative to amber-encasing of squids, since that seems buggy.
- New Bee Ideas:
*SheeBee - Produces wool & can be dyed just like sheep.
*Bee-a-ger - Bee that has the face of a villager. Honestly this is a less serious suggestion that I think would just be funny. Pollinate off of villagers, make villager-like sounds, generate random items based on the villager's current trade table.
*Coral Bee - Could also be condensed as a part of the Water Bee, but it'd be neat to have a bee that can produce random corals.
*Molten Bee - Lava producing bee. I know magmatics can convert cobble into lava, but this'd be a more reliable & less messy alternative.
*Galosphere Bees - Pink Salt Bee, Allurite Bee, Lumiere Bee.
*Corundum Bee - Quark bee that produces all colors of corundum, pollinating off of same.
Anyways, apologies for the length. I like to be as thorough as possible. Hope this can be of some help & spur some new ideas at least. Regardless of the issues, thanks for making an awesome mod that's become a permanent favorite of mine! :)
