If the alloy smelter is not ready for MC 1.7.10, does that mean that as of now there is no way to create wire in that version? If there should be a way, I'd be happy to learn what it is.

You are mistaken, the furnace hasn't been used for wire in a long time, even in the older versions. There are recipes for them. And the alloy furnace isn't coming back.

I must be missing something, for it seems the the wiki shows the wire being made from alloy and the alloy made in the furnace. What am I not seeing?

you make the alloy with a standard crafting recipe, then put it into a standard furnace to make the wire.

The FTB Wiki shows Red Alloy made from four redstone and either one iron or one copper. When I try this, there is no product. I have all the latest Project Red components and the latest recommended Chicken Core installed.

Perhaps you should check the official wiki instead of checking outdated 3rd party information.

Perhaps you could be kind enough just to tell me how to craft the alloy. The wiki shows only the wire being made from the alloy, not the fashioning of the alloy itself. ... I do note my mistake regarding the FTB wiki.

Strange, wires were all documented by me personally. I specifically remember making that page.
