CAD spuriously stays in shield hand regardless of later changes

If I at any point switch my CAD into my shield slot, the CAD image stays in my shield hand no matter what I put into that slot afterwards (e.g., putting the shield back). If I then wield the CAD, I get an entertaining two-gun effect, but even so, I'd rather be able to see what's in my off-hand properly.
