I am using Optifine, but this isn't a rendering issue (according to the issue template)

Love this new spell, but after I cast it a couple times within a couple seconds, the spell will sometimes cast itself afterward without me doing so. I think the game gets into some kind of loop as the moon and sun also stutter in their course and eating takes forever when this happens. I even saw a school of squid start to fly into the air and then move back to where they started from.

This spell is using the mass move to location spell

Stuttering celestial bodies and prolonged eating are symptoms of server lag. When this happens next time, could you try and quickly drop (default keybind [Q]) any item to see whether it drops immediately or after a delay?
