campfire pot

I was brainstorming about something to keep campfires relevant beyond earlygame and I think a pot that you can put above the campfire to boil things would be very nice.
Most of the food cooking will be done in the oven once it's unlocked but an oven is not really great for making stews!

So in a sense this would be a new device that depends on a lit campfire being below it.
In that case the campfire wouldn't be able to cook any items since the spot above it is taken by the pot.
Some of the ideas I had for build in recipes would be the vanilla stews, there is mushroom stew, beetroot soup and rabbit stew, all of them are fairly useless in the base game because you only get one at a time and they don't stack. With the pot adding water to it and the ingredients it could make multiple of the soups for only 1 set of items, maybe you can get 3 (or so) soups every recipe.

With a little CT action people using tough as nails could also add a way to boil water into purified water since pyrotech delays the vanilla furnace which makes the mod compatibility a bit hard for pack makers.

I second this! Great idea.

Great idea, I support this as well as the possibility to extend this suggestion into non-consumable items, both in vanilla and outside mods for cross-compatibility. It could also bring in a sense of upgrading if this is implemented with the ability of starting off with a clay or stone pot, with limited uses/capabilities and eventually you upgrade to an iron or steel pot. For example, for non-consumable items, you could use the instance of using CrT to make your own recipe for mods such as TiC, where you can add a recipe in the pot to mix together ingredients over a flame in order to get grout as the end result. Another example to give for pot materials could be as follows -
Stone - Brittle, doesn't like hot fluids.
Clay - Durable but doesn't like hot fluids.
Iron - Durable, can handle hot fluids.
Steel - Durable, can handle hot fluids and can be stoked with fire, similarly to BetterWithMods Hibachi and bellows

I support this idea and also support @jonthemoron 's ideas of having a tiered system.

Pyrotech having a fluid input/output system for crafting would add a lot of different options for players and modpack developers. I can personally see it being useful for creating tannin by cooking ground resin over an open flame with water and getting liquid tannin to craft leather.
