I'm not sure if this mod is intended to be compatible with other mods, as I know it's mostly based around Vanilla, but how hard would it be to add chests, vertical planks, bark blocks, etc from mods that add new kinds of wood, like the Forestry mod?

Perhaps there could be a way of doing this automatically using an algorithm that manipulates the wood/log/door textures?

This is beyond the mod's scope. Sorry about that.
