Breaking a Quark bookcase results in books with missing textures and irregular metadata

Running Quark-r1.0-54, AutoRegLib-1.0-2 with FML 2076. Break any quark bookcase with a vanilla axe and you end up with a book having a broken texture. For some odd reason, the metadata varies. I've had minecraft: book:1 and minecraft: book:3 during testing.
