Now, I only have a couple other mods installed (Advanced Skin Customization, More Ores in One, and Optifine) besides Quark and autoreglib, and I have the latest version of both Quark and autoreglib. That said, I have a bit of a hunch that this is an issue between Quark and Advanced Skin Customization, since both do something with player rendering, and this issue seems to only occur when an arrow sticks in the player. I didn't have this problem when I was using Advanced Skin Customization on its own.
When the screen goes black, the game keeps going, sounds and all. The only time that the screen fixed itself was when an arrow bounced off my shield and hit the skeleton that shot me. That immediately brought the screen back to normal (until he shot me again).
