On a linux server, I had oddities enabled, all defaults. I also had the defaults all set in the client.

I looked in the enchanting table once I got it made. I did put a pickaxe and lapis in it. I saw the lapis in my inventory go down by 1.

I decided I'd go back to regular enchanting for now, so I shut down the server and disabled Matrix Enchanting in the server config. I restarted it.

At this point, when I tried to open the enchanting table, it just blinked closed immediately. I disabled ME in my client but that didn't help.

I decided to break and replace the table. Doing this allowed me to use it again.
