Breaking an item with the Pickarang picks up the item and brings it back to you but the pickarang is deleted on returning to the user as the item is placed in the slot the pickarang was in. Regardless of the hotbar location the pickarang is deleted.
Solution suggestion: Have a "ghost" pickarang remain in the inventory to prevent items overiding the pickarang and ensuring that the pickarang is retained as a priority over the item being retreived.

Not reproducible in 1.16.5 r2.4-311, all items get placed in inventory, drop if inventory is full.
