I'm playing medieval Minecraft which uses Magnesium (a Port for sodium) but the runes don't work, I've already tried uninstalling Magnesiun but they still don't work.

This doesn't have to do with Optifine or Magnesium. The recipe may have been disabled in favour of a different tinting method. Check for an enchantment called 'tinted'.
