So far I've noticed this issue with chests, ladders and bookshelves. Quark removed the default chest, ladder and bookshelf it seems and thus modded woods cannot be used to make these items as there is no xxxx Chest and so forth.

Can vouch on 1.18.2 as well, woods from bop and byg both can not be used to make chest despite being denoted as planks
looks similar to #2897 again which is a tad disheartening

You can use any two types of wood to get a vanilla chest. Otherwise I recommend the AnyCompat mod
