This seems like a issue in vanilla/modded in general not sure what causes it, should check it out anyway though

adding to this: it also breaks opening shulkers in the inv, if you open a shulker box in your inventory and close it with the mouse key, you can't open it again

so I just noticed that also happens in 1.19, so the feature was broke all along
