floating Matrix Enchanting item teleports when book angle crosses 90 degrees

i am facing east (towards +X, angle of -90 degrees) in this clip

when the book crosses 90 degrees/Math.PI some weird mojank (a while loop?) brings the number back in range. it's possible to observe this happening when the Matrix Enchanting item is partway through animating
Most easily reproducible by approaching a matrix enchanter from the east, while standing very slightly to its south
