possibly intended behavior: when using gold button for iron door, the door opens and closes essentially instantly

the gold button act as 2 redstone tick which is basically the equivalent of spamming a lever, so yeah it's intended

is there some way for me to change it for my game? I like the shiny gold metallic look but I also need my iron doors to work properly lol

nope, unfortunately it's hardcoded, can't be changed by configs

I'm going to close the issue as this is intended. You could use a nod like Framed Blocks if you really need a gold textured stone button
