I am also having this issue with the chests on Forge 1.12.2 - 14.23.1.2581. Quark version r1.4-120.

This was a new set up through the Twitch launcher as of today, so the Quark config was newly made. I've tried deleting the management section, and have also disabled management, but I still can't open chests. I don't have the other chests enabled, only regular oak chests are in the game.

The issue isn't Quark - it's Optifine. OptiFine 1.12.2 HD U C6/C7 versions have confirmed-in-testing issues with blocking the opening of oak chests (and trapped oak) with recent versions of Forge (e.g. 1.12.2-14.23.1.[2559-2581]). No other chest type is impacted in our testing (Quark chests: spruce, etc work fine, as do ironchest boxes). After removing Optifine - oak-based chests work as expected.

Will spend some more time debugging - to see if there's a specific Optifine option that can be changed - but for now the immediate fix is removing that mod.

EDIT: Confirmed: the OptiFine 1.12.2 HD U C8 preview version fixes this issue.
