In the config file the fairy ring section allows you to add new ores that they can generate with. However, some mods don't have separate ids for each ore, rather they have one id that uses metadata to differ between the ores. If the config supported metadata, perhaps in a format such as modregistry:blockid:metadata it would allow much more configurability in modpacks.
