Cows empty trough without breeding

Minecraft 1.15.2
Quark-r2.1-245

I have a bunch of cows in a small farm. If put a trough next to them and put a stack of wheat in it. The cows slowly ate all the wheat and not a single baby was spawned - no hearts either. Breeding by hand works fine.

I am having the same bug but with pigs on Minecraft 1.16.5 and Quark r2.4-297.

Might this be your problem? image

Not for me, I only had two pigs.

EDIT: wait, it says animals... my pig pen is right next to my chicken pen. Let me check on this.

OK, it was animals in radius for me. Decreasing the radius in the config to fit my pens fixed it. Would it be feasible for the troughs to check the count of the animal it is feeding instead of all animals? The space between pens required by the configs radius default is a bit extreme for small farms yet the radius is useful for large farms. Having to change the config when upscaling a farm seems undesirable.

yeah, i was specifically looking for them to die due to mob cramming. oh well, i guess that's why, thanks.
