bedrock blocks beacon beam

OVERVIEW:
we recently noticed on my modded server that beacons aren't working in the nether the way they do in vanilla. normally in vanilla you can make a beacon in the nether as long as it can shoot up to bedrock, then it should be able to shoot through, but ours wasn't working at all. so i did some testing and it seems that for some reason Quark is making bedrock opaque to beacons, or something. i'm not quite sure what's going on. i looked through the configs and couldn't find anything that said anything about beacons or bedrock or opacity or anything of the sort.

DETAILS:
Minecraft: 1.16.5
Forge: 26.2.21
Quark: r2.4-321

TESTING:

  • i first noticed the problem on my server, so i made a solo world using my whole modpack and confirmed that the beacon was not working in the solo world.

  • i then removed the mods in chunks (there are 265 mods in the pack) until the beacon started working, then removed all other mods except the last chunk of mods i had removed, until i narrowed it down to Quark. with Quark installed, the beacon doesn't work, with Quark removed, the beacon works.

  • i then made a clean vanilla solo world, confirmed that the beacon worked, added JUST Quark, confirmed that the beacon stopped working. removed Quark, and beacon works again. added all of the other mods, and beacon still works.

This is a side effect of Beacon Redirection in the Tools module. You can disable it if you need to fix your beacons but it's still a bug. It will be a simple fix for 1.16 as well
