i have no idea how to troubleshoot this. it goes away when quark is removed.

You're using a 1.11 version on 1.12. I'm surprised it loaded at all.

I just verified that I'm running the latest versions of both Quark(r1.2-104) and AutoRegLib(1.3-13) that are marked to support 1.12 on CF. The issue persists even after removing all other mods.

I thought I should also mention that I'm using this on a vanilla server. not a quark/forge one, just to get some of the niceties like the shulker box display and chest search.

Ah. Your filename was that of the latest 1.11 build. Indeed, when scrolling down I can see it's the latest 1.12 build. I do have to wonder what caused that change but I digress. In any case, you need to ensure your server config and your client config are the same. This issue will happen if boat sails is enabled on the server and disabled on the client, or vice versa.
