The game crashes when a Bit Hop is placed against a Quark Oddities Pipe.

It looks like it's on BitHop's end, and an old issue of it throwing with some capability problems. This is fixed in BitHop dev, but BitHop dev is also broken at the moment due to a half-done refactor.
