Not being able to see mod ingame

For some reason the mod wont show up when I play the game might be wrong version, if so what version does it work on for you?
You may be launching the vanilla game than with Minecraft Forge. Launch it the right way.
I am launching it from forge, maybe I need a specific forge version, if so
which forge version?
