Switch Track doesnt work

The switch track doesn't work anymore.
It looks like the cart is turning, but it keeps going straight.
This happens at slow and high speed.
Railcraft 1.4.6-6.12.2.0
I have also noticed this issue with the wye track on the same version. Also occasionally using the switch track I would notice it change setting as the cart approaches the track and then change back. I don't know whether this is just a visual bug or not.
Bug tested in all official 6.12.# versions for 1.4.6 with forge 6.5.0.473 and a fresh install with only this version of forge and version 6.12.2.0 of railcraft installed.
This bug affects vanilla and mod carts.
EDIT:
On a closer look. The carts travel South when joining from East or West, and East when joining from North or South.
