1.10.2-3.7.7 Spectre Space not expanding with Ectoplasm - No Spectre Core visible

Entrance into Spectre Space embeds player within single square of floor, no movement possible. Spectre Core referenced in Wikispace not visible. Right clicking with Ectoplasm (and/or Spectre Ingots) does not expand space.
Odd, it works fine for me. Can you reproduce this with only Random Things installed?
It must be a conflict with other installed mods. In /gamemode 1 in a new world with only Random Things installed the core is visible, player is free to move, and Ectoplasm does expand Spectre Space. Sorry to waste your time.
After further investigation it seems to be related to the new Thermal Expansion mod's bedrock flattening. I'm still tracking it down.
