Entity Detector Suggestion: Save Settings

After the last update I use the ED much more often than before. I nearly always use the same setting but have to click many times on each button in the GUI to have "my" door-opens-for-players setting:
1 range x, 1 range z, 2 range y, detect Player, strong signal
this allows to put the ED right under the block on which the door is. It would be very helpful if it had the option to "remember" a setting or simply always remembers the last setting and puts that as the default start setting when the ED is placed.
Thank you very much for this great block and your work on Random Things.
Greetings, Konitor
Would an item that you can use to "copy" settings from one block to another also work for you?
Feels clumsy at first thought, but surely will be better than nothing. If I lost that item and re-recreated it, would it still have the last setting?
Why would I delete that item?
Because I throw all not-needed items into a ProjectE tablet when cleaning up the inventory. Very often needed items go there, too.
How would you do that copy-thing? Crafting a paper with an ED does not work atm because when the ED is an item all settings are reset to default.
Putting an empty paper into a new slot in the GUI and clicking "Copy to paper" would be an option to create a "ED setting". Putting an "ED-setting" into same slot and clicking "Copy from ED-setting" could reduce mouse clicks. But fiddling around with said paper may easily waste as much time as setting all values from scratch.
I really don't know if creating another item and changing the GUI and having a bucket of new logic and bugs is worth that little time-gain.
How would I know what I think before I have read what I wrote? That said, I will content myself to the actual state of ED and not ask for changing it any more.
:)))
Another thought: EDs should be stackable when they are situated as items in the inventory. If easch ED had its own nbt settings, they would not be stackable anymore.
It would work with every RT Block that has settings you can change. Shift right click a block and its settings would be saved in the item, right click another block and the settings from the item would be copied into the block.
