Swim speed multiplier accumulatively boosts player speed each time the player joins the world

So I want to make the player swim faster, but with either global multiplier or per-mob multiplier I get this bug: I set the multiplier to 1.5 which is not that big and I get my desired results, but when I quit the world and join it again it looks like the player's swim speed is multiplied by 1.5 again which means it's 2.25x right now and after a few rejoins the player swims faster than a rocket. (I guess this might apply to other mobs as well in singleplayer but I'm not sure)
