Specifically, sorting barrels would be really sweet, as they sound nicer and lag less than chests. The upgrade should turn barrels into sorting barrels. And there should be sorting versions of Metal Barrel's barrels.

Closing since the mod is no longer supported and will be superseded by a new mod for modern Minecraft versions in the near future.
