The advanced buffer has a GUI that does not show the right function of the block. The buffer has a sided output priority not an output direction change.

Oh, ok, so the 0 1 2 3, etc in the original GUI was the priority? Should the new GUI have a list of sides that you can change the order of? Should it be possible to have duplicate sides in the priority list or always one of each side?

I have to admit I'm not really clear on what the buffers do or what they're used for.

I will fix this in a few hours. The old design wasn't clear.
