Autocrafting reuse items in recipes / Items get lost when autocrafted

Describe the bug

I think there are two issues I’m experiencing with autocrafting in RS2.

The first issue is that when you use autocrafting for multiple components—for example, when you want to build a machine (I don’t create a pattern for every machine, but all components are autocraftable)—some of the components are still missing after crafting.

It seems that if one component is used in another autocrafted item, it gets consumed there. So when you later try to craft the machine itself, those components are missing. This behavior isn’t intended, right?

The second issue I often encounter is that autocrafting sometimes gets stuck. It just happened again: an item got stuck at 100%. I expected that if I canceled the job and restarted it, only the final part of the crafting process would need to be completed. But no—it starts crafting everything from scratch again. So I’m wondering, where did the items go?

Also, issue #1100
is quite annoying as well.

How can we reproduce this bug or crash?

  1. Create patterns for autocrafting that include components which appear multiple times and, if possible, are part of another component within the recipe. The end result could, for example, be a machine (for which no separate recipe is created).

  2. Try to use autocrafting to produce all required parts (especially with Modern Industrialization).

  3. It often happens that some components are missing, even though according to the autocrafting process all parts should have been created.

Thanks for the issue report.

At the moment, this issue is not actionable for me. The description and reproduction steps are anecdotal.

What I need is a reliable way to reproduce this problem.

  • Can you provide a world download?
  • Can you provide reproduction steps for me? What do I have to do in your world to get this problem?
  • Will I get the issue reliably? Can you find me some steps in which it is reliable?
  • Can you tell me if this issue happens with RS and MI only (can you reproduce it in a pack with only those mods)?
