[Suggestion] Coloring grid only on sides, to prevent accidentaly coloring it instead of open its interface

Hello,

My suggestion is to make coloring a grid would work only on its side, to prevent accidentaly coloring it and lost dye if trying to open it with dye in hand. Thank in advance.

On the side makes no sense. But requiring shift to be pressed is maybe an option.
