Lag spike on connecting crafters to network and adding patterns to crafters

Describe the bug
The crafters and inserting patterns to crafters (fairly large modpack btw, it has roadrunner (meep meep), i removed performant since it is incompatible with some of the mods in my modpack) create horrible lag spikes. Using spark, these lag spikes are somehow related to how refined storage reads and logs ItemGridStack.
How can we reproduce this bug or crash?
Happens when there are a lot of connected external storages (full), and storage blocks and a humongous amount of crafters which is fairly common when trying to automate and autocraft using tech-based mods such as mekanism.
Right after world load, no problems encountered. I can connect crafters and add patterns without a hitch
I'd let it run for a couple of moments. After this, I tried doing the same routine of adding crafters and patterns, lag spikes consistent and always happen. Sometimes, when the lag spike gets real bad, an OOM error (error code -805306369) occurs, forcing me to force quit the game.
What Minecraft version is this happening on?
Minecraft 1.16.5
What Forge version is this happening on?
36.2.31
What Refined Storage version is this happening on?
1.9.17
