FPS drop when looking at external storage/importer/exporter with a cover

Describe the bug
When looking exactly at external storage/importer/exporter with cover on, fps drops severely. Looking at the block right next to it does not cause fps loss, nor looking at it without a cover.
This is happening on FTB Presents Direwolf20 1.18, if this helps.
How can we reproduce this bug or crash?
- Place external storage/importer/exporter
- Place cover on it
- Look at it

Confirming this is still happening. Huge fps drop but only when looking directly at it. I'm wondering if it's a bad interaction with WAILA/etc.?
