This occurs for certain recipes (noteblocks, crafters)
Same issue appears to be happening in
#1790 and
#38

There might be a fix referred to in the comment below on issue 1790 but I'm not sure how to apply it if there is one.

Attempt to craft a note block through JEI through the craft grid.
