It is suggested to add configuration options to this furniture mod, allowing to disable the power status display and enable right-click activation without requiring a power supply, in order to enhance compatibility with other furniture mods.

Dear MrCrayfish,

As a Minecraft modpack author, I hold great appreciation for MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod: Refurbished — its unique and practical features significantly enrich the in-game furniture experience. However, when integrating your mod with other furniture mods to build a cohesive modpack, two minor inconsistencies regarding appliance mechanics have emerged. To enhance compatibility with multi-mod scenarios and ensure a unified gameplay experience for players, I’d like to put forward two targeted suggestions, while fully preserving the core strengths of your mod.

1. Adjustment for the "Power Status Display" Feature

Your mod’s function of showing an appliance’s power status when the player aims at it with the crosshair is incredibly user-friendly. Yet, most other furniture mods on the market focus solely on decorative purposes and lack such a "power status display" function. This discrepancy leads to inconsistent interaction logic in the modpack: players may feel confused when only appliances from your mod show power status, while those from other mods do not — ultimately undermining the cohesive feel of the gameplay.

To address this, I propose either of the following adjustments:

  • Add a config option that allows modpack authors or players to directly enable/disable the power status display.

  • Implement an "item-triggered" mechanism: the power status only appears when the player holds a specific item (e.g., a "Circuit Detector") and aims at the appliance with the crosshair.

2. Configuration for "Power-Free Activation" of Appliances

The current design — requiring appliances (such as lamps) to be connected to a power source to light up — adds a nice touch of realism. However, this power-dependent mechanic clashes with most other furniture mods (which do not require power for functional/decorative use), creating inconsistencies in the modpack.

Thus, I suggest adding a config option that enables "power-free activation": allowing players to light up appliances like lamps directly via right-click, without the need for a power supply. This gives players greater flexibility:

  • Those who prefer realistic gameplay can stick to the original "power-dependent activation" mode.

  • Players who find wiring too complex, or whose modpack’s overall aesthetic conflicts with power mechanics, can use the "right-click activation" to quickly create their desired in-game spaces.

Both suggestions aim to make your excellent mod more adaptable to multi-mod integration scenarios, helping modpacks maintain unified gameplay logic while retaining the unique charm of your furniture designs. Thank you sincerely for your time and consideration!
