[BUG] Regenerations are not damaging or knocking back enemies and entities like previous versions did

In the current latest version (regeneration 2.1.7), even with minimal mods mobs are not being knocked back or killed in close proximity to a regeneration.

I looked straight ahead and regenerated and in previous versions the mobs around me would get constantly pushed back and damaged as I lit up.

when regenerating in 2.1.0 which was the version closest to the version i began building my modpack on... based a round combat... and getting out of death by making good use of regenerations...

all of them. instantly annihilated, like still should be... but isn't. because now mobs can casually walk up to me and keep slapping me till I'm dead, making it very hard to live.

also, for some reason, I think due to a forge 1.12.2 update that just snuck into twitch, I can now regenerate in first person... and the animations don't change on their own as displayed in this screen shot. I only used third person to show literally no zombies being killed in the first shot.

This seems like a fairly in need of TLC bug... especially for Timeless Technician which I just released. :<

camera rotation still works:

visually, it still freezes camera when grabbing energy from jars, but displays no hand beams unless in third person.

same zombie pit, standing on pillar, facing forward in third person, moments upon regenerating also in 2.1.0 regenerations.

temporarily, I got half a mind to just go back to this version for now, as the arch isn't all that useful and sync won't bug cause it doesn't exist in this pack. :V

Crucial info:

Rendering bug: Potentially caused by new forge on twitch: forge-14.23.5.2852 was not occuring before this version and should be testable.

No killing or knocking back bug: caused from changes between regeneration 2.1.0 to the versions afterward (2.1.1 i presume onwards with the chameleon arch to latest, 2.1.7)

Minecraft: 1.12.2

Occurs both in a small test pack of 33 mods (all of which are just movement things and various MC tweaks for my own comfort) and my large Timeless Technician modpack of 220+ mods.
