The skin is completely bugged. the only way to keep fixing it is by dying which switches the skin back to normal. i am also using only the regeneration mod version 2.0.8 on 1.16.5. the forge version is 36.2.26

Mod also crashes when i toggle off trending? and press save or try to switch to another skin..

Please re-attempt with this skin + it seems the game is crashing due to your having no skins in your skin folders?

fixed for 1.16, skins will now be converted to the newer format

Alright I just used the skin and it works! And I looked at the other skins and some of them had the same bug so I checked the skin folders and noticed that the skins that were bugged didn't have those extra textures most of my skins had.
Turns out that some were old skins and some just didn't have extra textures so they weren't 1.7+ formatted.

I also put the skins outside of the mineskin folders and toggled trending off and it doesn't crash, So thanks for the help :)

The quick way I convert skins outside the mod is to upload them to this editor and then download them

But yeah, going forward the mod will convert them for you, I will close this issue when I update 1.18 to have this feature also
