Issue description

The 1.12.2 versions past 2.1.8 are all broken. Regeneration into a steve model causes the regen energy to come out of your face instead of your head. Also when you die or force a regen your skin resets to default.

Steps to reproduce

Play 1.12.2 version past 2.1.8 and regenerate into a skin that is not your default skin. Once the post regeneration period has passed die or force a regen and your skin will imminently revert to your original skin (it changes before you regenerate into your next incarnation) If it is a steve model skin then the animation will also break.

Its like if the tenth doctor died instantly turned into his first incarnation then regenerated into his eleventh.

Is there anything I can do to make you leave 1.12 behind? It's very old

I can investigate this for you but I cannot promise that it will be anytime soon, 1.12 is very old, especially in terms of this mod as the codebase was redone a few times and it's not been revisited in 1.12 in a long time
