Issue description

(real minecraft version is 1.20.1 since it isn't an option on the version selection)
the changes skin for your character changes to your actual account skin when loading into other dimensions
this bug was originally found while using the tardis refined mod and going through the tardis but I loaded minecraft with just the regeneration mod and fabric just in case it's a problem with something else and I had the same issue after entering the nether.

Steps to reproduce

start minecraft with the mod for 1.20.1
regenerate into a different skin and enter a different dimension

also found timelord npcs would default to steve when closing the game then reloading the world
