Do you have cloud sync of OneDrive enabled?

commented

would you mind explaining how to disable the scanning of the directory i have narrowed it down i understand that it is indeed the windows defender as i disable real time protection replay mod works fine but ive excluded a ton of things and i havent figured it out what do i do? i need to be walked through like a baby lol

commented

Instead of selecting a process, choose the folder option and select:

  • your temp folder, which you can find similar to AppData with %TEMP% (in above log it's C:\Users\kes90\AppData\Local\Temp\)
  • .minecraft/replay_recordings/
  • .minecraft/replay_videos/
commented

i went through all those guides and stuff and im just having issues finding the process and excluding it idk what the process is thats being blocked so i cant exclude it

commented

im having the same issue have you found a fix?

commented

i made the hour recording and it worked then i deleted the second installation i reckon if i left the other one installed it would be fine but dumb ol' me deleted it thinking i didnt need it

We (support team) see this issue every now and then. As far as we can tell, it's not caused by ReplayMod, but by another programme working on the file. From what we know it seems to be caused by some anti-virus scanners, that use blocking-read instead of non-blocking-read while checking the file.
Please try disabling scanning of that directory or the ReplayMod files there and see if that helps.

i turned off cloud sync with other devices and to be double sure i uninstalled Microsoft one drive from my computer tried it and got this

OptiFabric error:

commented

I just realised the first report is different from the other two:

  • The first one has an access error in %TEMP%, which is (as far as we know) caused by anti-virus scanners, faulty cloud sync, etc.
  • But the other two reports show moving the replay file to the raw folder before attempting to cut it.

@Johni0702 could there be a race condition, that the file-writer isn't closed yet, when the cutting code tries to move the file?

I don't see how, the code for it is extremely straight forward:

replayFile.save();
replayFile.close();
if (core.getSettingsRegistry().get(Setting.AUTO_POST_PROCESS) && !ReplayMod.isMinimalMode()) {
outputPaths = MarkerProcessor.apply(outputPath, guiSavingReplay.getProgressBar()::setProgress);

And the close method:
https://github.com/ReplayMod/ReplayStudio/blob/c9de2f5d4fe3085d2ea3e836ef6b41cc9cf732fa/src/main/java/com/replaymod/replaystudio/replay/ZipReplayFile.java#L353-L356

And the two moves are also fairly close, the first one happens as one of the last things in save (it first writes to a temporary file, and only if that's fully done, then it moves it into the replay_recordings folder), while the other two happen as one of the first things in MarkerProcessor.apply.

I have no idea.

so you guys have no idea what is causing this lolll ofc i get the problem lmao you guys got this!

I can't think of any other thing that might cause it:

  • anti virus with blocking read
  • cloud sync blocking files
  • race condition and RM blocking itself

None seem to apply here...

do you think a full uninstall kinda reset of the mod and minecraft would help?

commented

cuz idk like i wanna use it but looks like we just hit a bump where i just wont be able to

do you know how to fix maybe that method works and replay developers arent the right people to ask for this specific thing
