Whenever I place a placement marker My screen will go black but only facing that area... I can turn around and see the rest of my world fine. Once I remove the marker I can see just fine. It makes it impossible to use it.

Probably the shader or some other third-party mod. You didn't give any info on any of those, so there isn't much I can say.
