I already made issue for it (#958). But, as fas as i understand, replay mod developer not interested in timely updates. There is an idea is to fork replay mod and make update yourself or if it too hard make tiny alternative to it like TinyReplay that only stores packets and shows them, nothing more, so it will be easy to port.

They update the mod privately and share testing builds only with with supporters until the updated version is stable enough to be published.
More like to force people support them on patreon.
Are you forced to send money to the developer to use this mod? You have found out the opportunity to get early access to buggy updates, and you are already complaining? Wake up, Mojang forbid the mod authors to monetize their mods directly, give them an opportunity to receive at least something for their hard work. After all, this software comes with no guarantees or obligations, and you should be glad that the mod is being updated at all.
