Current List:

  • Pillager outpost (Gotta see if possible to place on land with jigsaws) added

  • Piglin Village ( Same issue. Jigsaws hate matching terrain under nether roof) added

  • Shipwrecks added

  • Ruins (someone gave me files for these. need to check them out) added in v1.8.0

  • Nether City (end city) added in v1.8.0

  • Crimson/Warped mineshafts added in v1.8.0

  • Nether Ruins added in v1.8.0 Special thanks to miguelforge for design!

  • Nether Brick Outpost added in 1.1.0 (using cannon_foddr's design he allowed me to use)

  • Warped Outpost and Crimson Outpost added in 1.2.0

  • warped village and crimson villages added in 1.3.0

  • shipwrecks added and are piloted by wither skeletons in v1.6.0!

  • Nether Monument added in 4.1.0

  • Ancient Nether City added in v6.2.0!

  • Mansion (brute based but balancing it and the loot will be very difficult)

  • Soul Outpost (suggested by badooga) (will have to be zombie piglins since regular piglins are scared of soul fire)

  • Basalt Outpost (suggested by badooga) (needs to turn off basalt feature around as best as I can)

  • Basalt Mineshaft (suggested by badooga)

  • Soul Mineshaft (suggested by badooga)

hello so this is a very long time here also new and idea, Magma Berg? using like Magma block nether block lava? and idk

commented

Icebergs are not structures and thus, is outside the scope of my mod. It would be better for a biome mod to make a new biome dedicated to magma bergs. It would also look much better in a dedicated biome than trying to stuff them in existing biomes

Hi! Huge fan of what this mod has to offer - the nether structures in particular. I have a few suggestions for things that could be added:

Mineshafts

  • Basalt mineshafts that use polished blackstone bricks instead of nether bricks. Could even generate gilded blackstone in there.
  • A variant of nether mineshafts that uses red nether brick instead of regular nether brick.
  • Soul sand is the hardest one, so I understand not going for it... perhaps this one could be smooth basalt mixed with polished blackstone walls? Or even something with quartz? Or just allow the basalt ones to generate here too.
  • Each mineshaft could have its own spawner type. Nether would have blazes, crimson = zoglins, warped = endermites (endermites appear from ender pearls that you can get from the nether, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch), basalt = magma cubes, soul = skeletons. (This can be edited using the datapack, so it doesn't matter too much.)

Other

  • Blackstone dungeons that use polished blackstone bricks instead of nether bricks.
  • Blackstone outposts and monuments that use various blackstone blocks and possibly basalt.
  • Soul outposts that use basalt, soul soil/sand, and maybe even bone blocks. Would spawn skeletons or sometimes even wither skeletons over time.
  • Crimson or warped witch huts. Honestly it'd fit to still have a witch in there that's camping out in the nether, but otherwise it could be a geared out piglin.
  • Nether ruins that use quartz.
  • Basalt deltas igloos next to lava oceans. Could have an overworld mob or two in there, or maybe a piglin and a zombie piglin side by side.
  • Nether wells made of blackstone or even quartz. The blackstone one could have gilded blackstone.

Here's a very basic proof of concept. To get this, I made the following replacements, and then added a few adjustments:

  • Snow blocks to polished blackstone bricks
  • Ice to iron bars
  • Torches and redstone torch to soul torches
  • Bed to respawn anchor, with a chest that has some glowstone and crying obsidian in it
  • Oak or spruce wood to crimson
  • Any form of stone brick to its blackstone brick equivalent
  • Infested stone brick to crying obsidian
  • Mossy stone bricks to gilded blackstone
  • Cobweb to weeping vines
  • Potted cactus to potted crimson fungus

These should be self explanatory.

@badooga I won’t be adding quartz based structures. Quartz doesn’t generate naturally and doesn’t really mesh well with the nether’s look. So the quartz well/ruins is out

witch hits does not really make logical sense in the nether as witches are not nether mobs and piglins already have several other structures that fits them much better.

The basalt well and igloo I won’t be doing because the Basalt Delta biome is incredibly busy and aggressive with its basalt features. The well and igloo will never be found in it. (And the igloo won’t look good spawning by itself in lava oceans imo) I don’t even think most people even can find the Basalt Temple I spawn in it lol.

the basalt and soul sand variant for mineshaft and outpost, maybe I’ll do those but I rather wait till 1.19.3/1.20 before looking into new structures to add. It takes a lot of work to add new structures. Red nether brick mineshaft doesn’t bring anything new to the table so that will be skipped too. And the dungeon/monument idea will be skipped as I prefer one variant just for those dimension wide tbh.

Though all mineshafts will continue to use blaze Spawners as the equivalent of regular mineshaft’s cave spider spawner. You can change this by datapack for your own world though by datapack replacing the rs_spawners folder’s files. See the config datapack linked on my mod page for an easy to edit datapack to make the changes you want. If you become very good with datapacking, you can make a new datapack that actually adds brand new structures through repurposed structures into the world and make your ideas real regardless of what I do lol

Heeding this advice, I made a variant temple_nether_soul structure using the soul sandstone blocks from the Quark mod and replaced the default version using the config datapack. Attached below is a zip folder containing the nbt file for it, if you're interested.

Would probably fit your improved mineshaft mod better, but wouldn't your improved mineshafts be really nice in the nether?
(especially with the new nether wood types that could be used in place of the normal wooden supports)
(alternatively, nether brick could be used since it has a fence type)
(feel free to delete this if it was already added and I just never found any in my nether)

There is actually a Nether Mineshaft in this mod. They spawn below lava level by default but you can raise them upward by config. You can check out the image tab on my mod's curseforge page for pictures of nearly all structures that this mod has :)

Though I will admit, I should probably add a Crimson and Warped variant of the nether mineshaft. Probably not soul sand as it wouldn't have enough blocks to make them look nice. And Basalt Delta biomes already clogs up the mineshafts with basalt so it barely has any air space so probably no basalt mineshafts.

Thank you for letting me know they exist and crimson and warped variants would be cool to see especially if they had those glowshroom blocks (can't remember proper name) to light up the mineshaft.

Suggestion.
Warped Nether City: spawns in warped biome and combines properties of original End City and your regular Nether City.
Has shulkers and blazes spawning overtime but their combined spawn rate in total is the same as regular End City. Chests with loot tables from both End City and Nether Fortress with nether chests themed chest being more prevalent. No elytra or very rare. Building materials are both nether and end materials, with warped planks taking place of purpur and the rest is some combination of end stone and nether bricks.

commented

Thank you for the suggestion but I will not be doing hybrid structures. A End Nether City doesn’t fit in any biome or dimension and blazes/shulkers should not be found outside their respective dimensions. I rather keep doing biome/dimension specific themes and no hybrids. I would’ve gone for an Ocean City but the cities are too big to fit in the deepest ocean.

commented

I only suggested this because Warped Forest seems to be place where End bleeds into the Nether.

commented

Hmm. I viewed the warped forest as more of its own thing than associated with the end. The End is so barren right now in vanilla that I feel it’s theme is more yellow/purple with sparse plants. It is an interesting thought but I don’t think Mojang was going for an end tie in with their dense blue forest

commented

@TelepathicGrunt
Normal Nether mobs avoid it (hoglins outright fear warped fungi) and name warped further suggest its alien nature in relation to the rest of the Nether. On the other hand, well, it is populated with Endermen denser than any place outside the End, with Strider simingly being the only native Nether mob adapted to this place. So my headcanon it is Crimson Forest warped by the End influence. And it seems like I am not the only who has this headcanon:
Discussion
Further more, color scheme of warped forest is color scheme of crimson forest that was inverted and adjusted for brightness. Just like Enderman's color vision is famously inverted, endstone texture is color inversion of cobblestone and chorus plant is purple because it is negative of green.
And finally here is official biome preview article:
Article
Notice subtitle "The End of the Nether" and the phrase: "Today that oversight will be fixed as we grip our netherite swords, push aside the twisted vines, and journey into the biome where the Nether meets the End..."

Whoa, this is cool, never saw this article, now I feel like I was missing something for a long time.
