Incompatibility with Better beacons?

Following the instructions, I tried to make an obelisk with an infinite charges, but it seems that this does not work.
Built a level 3 pyramid, put a beacon (and tried activate it) and an obelisk right above it, but it worked like a normal one with a limited charge.
Everything else, of course, I checked and it works, from pet respawns to wormholes and secondary respawn points, BUT the modified beacons do not work, the beacon ID itself has not changed in any way, only its beam mechanics have changed and its capabilities have been expanded.
I don't know exactly which of these mods prevents the use of infinite charge (in the config everything is enabled), either the beam redirection mechanics from Quark, or the beacon improvement from Better Beacons.
Cerbon's Better Beacons? If so: I'm looking into this now. I use a function provided by Minecraft to get the beacon's power level, I'll see if either mess with that function.
As a temporary fix, you can set the required beacon level in the config to some negative number, that should allow you to do the infinite charge thing(although you won't need a powered beacon).
