The chest decoration/model is clearly not as wide as the chestplate model and it looks weird. It's especially visible when you look at the two side-by-side texture resolutions. I've noticed this on my slim model character, but haven't tested it with the default model. Perhaps you could make the chest model bigger when wearing a chestplate?
