[Request] Research Centers and complexes

I know this might be a long way down the road if accepted but here it goes
Running around finding research stations gets very boring after awhile, and a little big like a similar magical mod.
Why not put in Research Centres, and Research Complexes.
A research center could be a "medium" size, and have 4-5 chests in it - but also a couple of mob spawner's - make it a little challenging, and perhaps 2-3 raitiy 3-4 dimlets on a wall somewhere.
A complex would be alot bigger, perhaps be multi basement and have 5-10 chests in it - and a rairty 5-6 item somewhere on an item frame - and alot of mob spawner's etc =)
This does not take us very far from that "similar magical mod". It's still a bunch of (sentient-being-made) structures that are appearing in a "brand new" dimension created by technology.
What if, instead of having random loot buildings, we had "cracks" in the fabric of a generated dimension? Such cracks could be analyzed and turned into random dimlets.
The idea is that, unlike existing dimensions like the Overworld, the generated dimensions are not completely sealed, due to the amount of energy that was pumped in during their creation. This violent process would leave cracks, or holes, in which the normal laws of physics did not apply, be it because the fabric of space is damaged, or because proto-dimensions are leaking through it. Those could be studied (or the patterns captured, or whatever), and used to create new dimensions with the new patterns.
This would also explain the maintenance power requirements. Generated dimensions are leaky, basically because they are full of holes. A void age requires very little energy because it is mostly sealed (other than having being punched through by Overworld creatures). While a diamond dimension is very leaky due to the force that was required at creation to bend the laws of the universe so much. In return, the diamond dimension would have far, far more places you could collect (essences/wave patterns/exotic particles) from.
As for how conspicuous these cracks should be, I'm not sure. This could depend on the age's power requirements. To make them less boring and random, a detector could be made, that would pinpoint their locations. Random things could also happen on the chunk they are located.
I could try my hand at implementing a proof of concept if anyone else likes this idea.
I already have plans for something like this. But indeed, first other things have to be done before we can do this. When this is implemented it will be done using Recurrent Complex from @Ivorius
