Would it be possible to allow the elevator to be powered from the top of the shaft and have the floor numbering to match?

Two main reasons for the suggestion.

1. Real Life elevators are powered and controlled from the very top of the shaft.

2. Most minecraft players dig down as they progress. It would be nice to be able to dig a shaft under the elevator and add floors as you go down.
