The HUD currently has two slots. With the upcoming modifier system, it's possible that 3-4 or even more herbs will be "costed" at once and thus should be visible. This means that the system will need to be updated to better cope with that possibility.

I'd recommend 3 rows of 3, which should cover about everything.
