Additionally, they may randomly not render a side face of the base plate, even without any blocks in the way:

I could not replicate the side culling issues without Rubidium, or on Fabric with Sodium and Indium, so that seems to be a Rubidium-specific issue. The top culling problem also happens on Fabric with Sodium and Indium, though.
