1.16.5 Crash when opening video settings

The latest rubidium update crashes the client when I try to open video settings.

Here's the crash report:

The Crash is caused by Magnesium/Rubidium Dynamic Lights.

A soft-fix for this bug is to remove Dynamic Lights, then change the video settings you want to change, and then add again Dynamic Lights.

I've already posted this Issue in their Discord, but it has not received any response since yesterday

Have you tried their github? They also have an issues tab

Also crashing on video settings, but it looks like it's for a different reason. Removed dynamic lights and it's still happening

It's likely another one of the addon mods for rubidium, and I'm going to narrow it down, but wanted to report it in the meantime

We are on the Github ๐Ÿ’€

It tentatively seemed to be Magnesium/Rubidium Extras for me

which is rough, because that has a lot of optimizations in it that I'd really like to keep

I clearly meant the Dynamic Lights' GitHub. It's a completely separate mod. It's not even by the same author as Rubidium.

Oh, I missunderstood your message, sorry.

Regardless, Dynamic Lights has not received any update for 1.16.5 since 2021, so I highly doubt they will solve it

Same here, crashing without having Dynamic Lights installed but ideally want to keep the optimizations. Ive made a bug report on Extras github so hopefully its fixed either here or there.

Are you using Rubidium Extras: Potato Edition?
As this is a still mainted version for 1.16.5 and has a lot of bugs fixed.

Also if it still occurs with the Potato Edition mod, it would be better to report there, as I don't believe that the normal version will fix it.

I didnt know this was a thing and will try it today, thank you!

Edit: That worked as intended. Thank you for the help.

@calreveraster after many weeks of searching I have found an alternative to Magnesium/Rubidium Dynamic Lights. Use RyoamicLights if you wish to re-enable dynamic lighting (https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/ryoamiclights).
